Because the town isn’t built around tourism, sunseekers will find Jupiter provides a pleasant change of pace from the more posh and populated resorts along the coast. The primary reason to visit these parts is the beach, of course. Other than that, there are some excellent animal rescues, city parks, and geological features. Certainly there is enough in Jupiter to entertain you for a 3-day weekend. After all, this is one of the Best Cities in South Florida.

Must Do: Things to do in Jupiter Florida
Must-Do attractions are typically the reason we’ve decided to visit.
1. Juno Beach & Pier
Juno Beach is a lovely strand with mint blue water and a clean crowd. You’ll find an abundance of shells as you walk for miles, and the sunrise setting is simply amazing. If you want South Florida beaches without all that other “South Florida stuff”, Juno Beach is your place. This is absolutely one of the best things to do in Jupiter Florida.

Should Do: Things to do in Jupiter, Florida
Should-Do attractions receive a strong recommend.
2. Loggerhead Marine Life Center
Loggerhead Marinelife Center is a popular nonprofit focused on ocean and sea turtle conservation. A dozen or so tanks (shown above) house turtles that are in various stages of rehabilitation due to accident or injury. When ready they will be released into the ocean or a more appropriate facility. You’ll also enjoy shark feedings, jellyfish under black lights (very cool), and an assortment of creatures in tanks.

3. Dubois Park
Dubois Park is a stunning esplanade near the mouth of the Jupiter Inlet. Here you can watch the boats go in and out, admire the vantage of the Jupiter Lighthouse, observe herons and pelicans fishing, and take a beautiful stroll to the beach. This is the perfect place to have a picnic.
4. Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum
This is an incredible place to score an elevated view. We think the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse is a bit on the pricey side at $12/person, so if you have other lighthouses in mind you can probably skip it. The fee comes with a tour and access to the grounds, but they really should lower the price.
5. Blowing Rocks Nature Conservatory
This is the hidden gem in Jupiter, Florida. You’ll want to visit when at low tide to see the waves crash against the coral banks. Here’s a tide chart to help you plan. Be sure to wear durable shoes and leave unsteady family members at home, because the coral is sharp and unforgiving. And you’ll have to walk a half-mile down the beach from the parking lot. Here’s a MAP.

6. Waterways
Like the palm trees and the pelicans, waterways whimsically accent the area. The largest of the them rolls from the Jupiter Inlet to North Palm Beach. As you drive across the bridges you’ll oooh and aaah at the scenery, and on occasion you’ll get stuck at the draw bridge so a sailboat can pass.
We recommend stopping and walking across a bridge at least once to admire the natural beauty as well as the opulence of the Jupiter residents.
Could Do: Things to do in Jupiter, Florida
Could-Do attractions are worthwhile, but we don’t strongly recommend them for one reason or another.
7. Busch Wildlife Sanctuary
The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary has over 40 years of dedication to the protection and conservation of Florida’s wildlife and natural resources. Their mission is two fold: Wildlife rehabilitation and environmental education.
To the undiscerning person this is a small zoo with some amazing animals. It takes an hour or two to see it all. We think it’s worth the 15 minute drive, especially because it is free! If you have children, this is one of the most fun things to do in Jupiter, Florida.

8. Coral Cove Park
Just down the beach from Blowing Rocks is Coral Cove. The coral banks are much smaller here, and they have a pleasing manner of mingling with the waves. Catch a sunrise, toss in a line, or just stroll the beach. It’s a great place to waste some hours.
An Honest Conclusion: Things to do in Jupiter, Florida
Jupiter is more down to earth than other parts of South Florida. No one has filmed an MTV beach party here, and we hope they never do. The wealth is apparent yet falls short of ostentatious, which is just the way we like it. The community is active in a subtle way and people are generally nice.
All in all, Jupiter is a great place to be. We lived here from October – December 2023. We spent a lot of time exploring the many towns of South Florida. Turns out Jupiter became one of our favorites!
There isn’t a super strong draw to any of the features in the area, but that keeps the crowds down, so it’s mostly a blessing. If you’re looking for touristy things to do this you’ve landed a little bit north. We recommend staying in Fort Lauderdale if you’re looking for action, with Miami or West Palm Beach as secondary choices.
If you come to Jupiter, you’ll probably like it. Something might be wrong with you if you didn’t.
