Bali Sample Itinerary

The following is what a 3-Week Itinerary to Bali might look like. It is written as if we are traveling from the United States and crossing the date-line.

This vacation is designed for two people and priced as such.

Restaurants have not been added to the itinerary yet.

The 3-Week Itinerary

Day 1-2: Fly to Bali. 22 Hour Flight. $925 x 2. Leaves 01:10 — Arrives 14:40 the next day. Pick up Rental Car — $320 for a Toyota Agya — and drive to Hotel/VRBO between Uluwatu and Jimbaran on the Bukit Peninsula (southern Bali). Catch the sunset at a nearby beach if we feel up to it that evening.

*Lodging is plentiful. We settled on a VRBO for $700 — $100/night.

Day 3: Balangan Beach. Easy day. Move Slow.

Day 4: Dreamland Beach. Still taking it slow.

Day 5: Suluban/Uluwatu Beach. Karang Boma Cliff.  Uluwatu Temple at sunset (Kecak Uluwatu Fire Dance Show).

Day 6: Down Day. Visit Bingin Beach in late afternoon/sunset.

Day 7: Scenic Drive Day. Head to Nusa Dua Beach and spend some hours. Next visit Melasti Beach. Enjoy driving around the Bukit Peninsula. Stop anywhere that looks interesting.

Day 8: Down Day. Laundry. Catch the sunset at our favorite beach.

Day 9: Check out of VRBO. Slowly drive up the coast, trolling the beaches until we arrive at the Airport. Return Rental Car. Taxi to a hotel ($100) near Sanur Beach.

Day 10: Embark on Nusa Penida 2-Day Tour with one night in a hotel ($300 for two people total cost of tour+hotel). Nusa Penida is a tropical island with breathtaking sights found just off the coast of Bali. Tour Guide will pick us up @ 06:00.

Day 11: Nusa Penida Tour ends at 17:00. Catch a Taxi to VRBO in Ubud ($1000 — $100/night).

Day 12: Down Day

Day 13: Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary. Ubud Market and Art Market. Saraswati Temple.

Day 14: Mt Batur Sunrise Hike.  Mt. Batur Hot Springs.  Hire a Driver $100.

Day 15: Down Day

Day 16: Taxi $20 to Tirta Empul Temple for water purification ceremony

Day 17: Besakih Great Temple. Hire a Driver $100.

Day 18: Down Day

Day 19: Taxi $20 to Ceking Rice Terrace

Day 20: Temple of Penataran Agung Lempuyang. Tirta Gangga. Hire a Driver $100.

Day 21: Taxi to Airport $60. Fly Home

Cost Breakdown

Flights: 1850

VRBO/Hotel: 1800

Rental Car: 320

Nusa Penida Tour: 400 (w/ tip)

Drivers: 300

Taxi: 100

Food: 1500 ($75/day USD — eating very well at this amount)

Spending Money: 1,730 (more than enough)

Total: $8,000
